About the Role

Building Machines is hiring a workshop technician to run the workshop and contribute to the design and testing of next generation additive manufacturing technology.
In this role you will be responsible for building and assembling prototypes, performing tests, maintaining and improving the workshop and wearing whatever hats are needed to ensure smooth operations at Building Machines. You should be comfortable getting your hands dirty operating tools, building prototypes, making a mess with concrete, and coming up with creative solutions to tough problems. Successful candidates will be eager to learn new things, experiment with new methods and teach and share with their teammates.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Primary Responsibilities
Assemble next generation additive manufacturing prototypes, tools, and lab and office equipment according to specifications
Improve processes and workshop infrastructure utilizing creative problem solving and basic construction skills
Perform tests using prototype equipment
Create technical documentation and record data
Interpret drawings and technical specifications
Maintain tools and equipment in a workshop environment
Ensure a safe and clean work environment
Pick up equipment and materials from vendor and customer sites as needed
Basic Qualifications
Excellent communication skills
Proficient using hand and power tools
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Valid driver’s license
Familiarity and experience with hand and power tools
Experience with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
College or Technical Degree
Experience in concrete, construction or other trades
Experience using machine tools including milling machine and lathe
Experience assembling and troubleshooting electronic components
